But please don't be too pessimistic! Better to be single a while than in a relationship that will go nowhere. I look back and wish I had taken this advice myself at one time or more. I take it the nice meat- eater turned out not to be willing to change then? I made the decision to only stick to vegetarian and vegan men (I felt I had the tolerance to cope with a vegetarian who was vegan-friendly) at the age of 23. Admittedly I did subsequently have a failed marriage to a vegetarian (who was a reluctant vegan while we were married), so maybe I should have resolved vegans only, but since a couple of quite compatible vegan men I had liked had turned me down since I resolved no more meat-eating boyfriends, I did end up marrying him. Join Veggiedate (you can even lie about your age and unless John the omniscient one does the detective work you will get away with it!! Just kidding with Angie), and/or VMM, but what worked for me in making sure I had chance to meet the right type of men was simply being very involved in my nearest local animal rights and vegan/vegetarian group. It's no good complaining of singledom if one does not go to the appropriate places to seek out Mr Right, this is the mistake made by so many vegan women. You also might have some chance of meeting him through an environmental group or the Green party if you are of that political persuasion, as these will have a fairly high proportion of vegans compared to everyday life. No use wasting your time with mainstream places and groups or pubs and clubs, the chance of meeting the right type of man who is also vegan is pretty slim that way, you might have to get involved in specifically vegan-type groups. Fortunately I liked to be involved in those groups anyway, just to campaign and make like-minded friends anyway. It works better if you like that sort of thing anyway and are not just there to find Mr Right. > > I`ve heard that the National Vegan Festival in London is coming up in > September, has anyone been b4?? I don't personally know them but they did help Fletcher of the animal rights group there in organising the meeting where my American friend Jerry Friedman spoke about his vegan rights lawsuit recently, so that is the only link I have with Sheffield. Check out Veggies Animal Contacts Directory for local groups near you, http://www.veggies.org.uk/acd/europe/uk/england/countys.htm#Sout You could also try one of the vegan holidays, Vegan Camp in Wales or Vegan Summer Gathering in Devon, more time to get to know people. > > Where is everyone today, all having a lie in???!!!!Are there any > vegan chat rooms about, why is this one always empty?
