If you look on the vegan village noticeboard (www.veganvillage.co.uk) there is a message about some event in Matlock which says A Vegfest will be held at the Good for You Vegetarian and Vegan Cafe in Matlock at the top of Firs Parade on Saturday 23rd June from 11am till 3pm. Vegan snacks, sandwiches, cakes and drinks will be on sale. There will a chance to meet people from Sheffield Vegan Society and Viva Youth, and to check out vegan products from Honesty and Conscience Cosmetics. For more details contact Caron or Richard on 01629 584304 or email r.litchfield Hope this is helpful, Gillian

Im a huge fan of Aussie band silverchair, but they arent too big in this part of the world. The lead singer is a vegan and very active in the animal lib scene in Australia. Where about in Yorkshire do you live? I'm a vegan & live in Leeds and think I'm going down to the National Vegan Festival in London in September! Maybe we can go together? haven't either been there before but usually enjoy everything like that! I usually go by coach.
