Thankfully I don't know what it's like to be accosted by a self-righteous (or morally superior) and judgemental veggie but I expect sometimes it could be like meeting religious fundamentalists. Instead I think we should try to show them how healthy, spiritually and mentally-balanced, and happy we are. I think people at my work definitely see me as 'different' but in a really good way, and I'm always dropping in something positive about veggiedom any chance I get. RESPONSE: I Totally agree with not shoving veganism down anyones throat, argue the toss when confronted and just drop the odd quote out now and again, the odd bit of information you'll be amazed at who sometimes listens. The other day one of our sales reps came into the office and I noticed he'd lost weight so questioned him on it and he informed me he'd given up dairy products (this doesn't obviously make him a vegan but every little helps!). When I questioned him why he told me because someone had told him (ME - and he'd forgotton it was me) that dairy was a) extremely fattening and b) that our digestive system was not made to cope with dairy. This was part of a conversation / debate a large group of us were having on a weekend away, I was being verbally attacked by a drunk irishman whose family were dairy farmers and of course I hadn't a clue what I was talking about cos the paddy was right!!!! All i can say is if everyone remembers just one line of a conversation and actually takes notice of it, its a good start.
