Humpback and Fin Whales When? Last month Where? Boston & Cape Cod Massachusetts Huh? What can I say Whales are a passion of mine and have been since I was abour 9 or 10, I spent a long time ill in hospital and someone bought me a book on Whales, which I read over and over again, couldn't believe how huge and graceful they were or how long they had been on this planet. Cape Cod is fantastic, full of the gay community who always manage to make everywhere bright and funky. It also catered excellently for vegans with one or two health food shops and even the supermarkets had much more than ours. We went out on a boat everyday and just for the record I think they're watching us more than we're watching them. Very nosey creatures the humpback and we were lucky enough to see a baby humpback breaching (diving) out of the water and playing, enough to make you cry. The best thing about it is these boats instead of killing them now are actually contributing financially to keeping them safe. All the boats have a naturalist on board trying to educate people and collect data for studies. If your interested the two web site addresses below will give you more information. http://www.whalewatch.com http://www.coastalstudies.org/ I have been twice before, although I did originally wait 18 years to see my first as I wanted to be sure we weren't invading their space. Last year I went to Monterey bay, California for my birthday to see grey whales, incidentally I think we share the same birthday (jan 19th). Hope that answers your questions.
