Guest guest
I will have to check that out. I knew raw food people back in the 70s, but I lost contact with them and fell away from that type of eating (traveling).

Now I want to eat more raw. So far, so good.

Basically, be sure to eat a variety of foods. There are lots of books out.
Guest guest
Welcome nlezb. It was wonderful to ready your post. Such enthusiasm! It’s great that your doing your reading and research but the real test is in the actual doing of it. The more reading you do the more raw food makes sense. But just wait until others find out what you are doing. Everyone is going to be so worried—for you!

To enema or not to enema? That’s a good question and I have read opposing views on both sides of the aisle from individuals, authors and organizations that I trust. I say “yes” but I would only use plain distilled water preferably that you have made yourself. I know people do coffee and lemon enemas (and I have without any apparent injury) but putting plain water in there is unnatural enough as it is and seems to do the job.

I’ve stopped enemas now and have progressed to colonics. I bought a personal colonic board. I think it is great especially if I’ve eaten incorrectly and have a headache from constipation. The colonic takes care of me quickly without any drug use. Now colonics are just as controversial as enemas. The “purists” would say that all that water has no business being introduced into the body and that the colon can be forced out of shape and cause injury. They also say that frequent use will cause the colon not to work for itself. But I like them. They are less painful and much more efficient than an enema. But are they really necessary? I don’t know. I’d like to hear from others. The body has remarkable recuperative powers if you give it enough time and do the right things—like eat more raw food. Enemas and colonics might not actually be needed but I’ve experienced more good than harm from their use.

-OrionsDad
Guest guest
I went " cold turkey, 100% raw " on Dec. 22 '99 and it was probably a mistake, I had a lot of bad times. I am 56 years old and lived a very toxic life, exposed to a lot of bad chemicals, also I retired in Jan. this year so I did not have to work during detox, so I toughed it out. Before you go cold turkey, evaluate your life, and how demanding your job is, there were days I could not operate a vehicle. All your freinds will say you are dying because of this stupid diet. One of my freinds asked if I was chanting also, and he was serious. Your freinds are going to give you a hard time.

as for enemas, I never did it, I just don't like the idea, but I may have been better off if I had.

In the book " Natures First Law " they say; " The future is not a place you go to, but a place you create today. " Good luck, be strong, and welcome.

Doug
Guest guest
Hi Everyone I've just joined, and thought I'd say what-ho! Luckily, someone seems to have had the foresight to join just before me, and give some nice indications as to what I should say about myself - thanks! > > In a vague attempt to introduce myself I'm 20yrs old, have been > > vegan for the last 4/5 months after having been veggie for the 11 > > years before that. I'm 27, been Vegan for almost 3 years, Vegetarian for a year before that. Went Veggie, then Vegan purely for animal rights reasons - started off getting involved in hunt sabbing and general animal rights issues - at the time there was a lot going on locally to try to improve conditions for local farm animals, and when I found out how they were treated, promptly stopped eating them! > When's ur b-day and wot star-sign r u?? Eostara, Pisces / Aries cusp. > Where and what did you study? University of London (School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies) - History. > Where r u living now??
