Hi Angie /all

I was lurking because when I joined a few days ago, I hadn't realised i

should be between 18 and 35 - I too am 50+. But now I know there is another

I will introduce myself.

I am Jo, married with two 'children', Peter being one of them. As Lesley

said, I am on the VegSoc list. I work full time, like metal/hard rock,

Buffy & Angel, Stargate etc., gardening, and enjoy beautiful scenery.

I learned to count in Swedish when I was there on music exchange. The

scarcity of Sweden reminded me of Australia.

Hi Jo, there doesn't seem to be a list for us " oldies " but this list accepts

the " young at heart " and probably appreciates our " greater wisdom " !!!!!!!

Hi Peter and RM,

So why don't you show us some Swedish counting then? Can you still remember

it?

I live in UK, but am Swedish so I can correct you if you're wrong and

refresh your memory if you want to! Anything else you fancy learn in

Swedish?

Please excuse spelling, I'll do it phonetically as I remember what it sounds

like.

Un-Tvore-Thre-Fira-Femta-Sexta-Whoula-Octa-Nio-Tio-Elva (not sure about the

ta bit, that could be part of the song)

Then the teens are a little hazy.

Tvoredom-Thredom-Firdom-Femdom-Sexdom-?????

Turn up to Chai on Saturday and I promise to show you the little ditty

(song) that goes with it.

How do I explain what I can't eat in Swedish. What's the word for

non-ovolacato vegetarian/Vegan.

I was in a little Swedish town north west (I think). It had a very short

name and there was some famous massacre there and there was said to be a sea

of blood that comes up to a certain part of the foot/leg and that's what the

place was named after. I'll find out.

The school I was at was very nice.

You really make me laugh, that was very good! Can just imagine you saying

it, would love to hear that.......hi, hi, hi, hi!

Sorry, don't mean to affend you, it's very good and nearly all correct! This

is how it's spelled in Swedish (with changing some of the vowels to how it

sounds!);

ett, tvo, tre, fyra, fem, sex (yes, sex!), sju, otta, nio, tio, elva, tolv,

tretton, fjorton, femton, sexton!!!!

>Turn up to Chai on Saturday and I promise to show you the little ditty

Wish I could, but I live in Leeds and am teaching singing on Saturday so I

can come down this time! Maybe next time!

It's just the same - vegan, just the announing is different in Swedish, you

say it more like vegaaaaaaaaaan.

Don't know where that could be!? I come from the south of Sweden, maybe

that's why I don't know! Would be nice if you found out, I'm sure I've heard

of it!

Hi RM (should I call you RM?)

Strangely enough, no! You'd have thought they'd have done that, being a rock

concert!

OK - but I've never learnt to spell it, so this is phonetic - and bear in

mind that Stratovarius are Finnish, so this is probably phonetic Swedish

with a Finnish accent!!!!!!:

Et, tvo, tre, fiur, fem, sext..I've forgotten 7 and 8...nio, tio.

What form do you do? I've learned 24 and 42 form Yang - just started doing a

sword form when the teacher gave up :-( (he had a new baby which needed

looking after!)

Sorry boy, I haven't!!! Don't really watch that space-thing, think I'm

living in my own little crazy space-universe! Maybe I should give it a try

Yes, it says so in a very formal way. Right translation is:

" This receipt ensures that the message has been shown on the receiver's

computer at the time 2001-06-29 16:35 " !

Was that when my message arrived? It's obviously Swedish time (they are one

hour ahead), but I've only send messages this morning!

Funny! I guess that it took that long time for it to arrive then!

Or did you get it from somewhere else?
