I think olive oil is the best to use for cooking and salad dressings. It is rich in mono-unsaturated fats, so is quite stable. For dry skin I would suggest a mixture of evening primrose oil and linseed oil daily. I really miss the aloeveria plant we used to have. You could just go and get a " leaf " , split it in half and apply it to childhood wounds and they'd heal so much better.
