HLS/BoNY Protest Right Now! (13:20 london UK, Canary Wharf)

Just stepped out of the office, and all of the doors are locked

because of a security alert. Asked the guard, and he said something

about bloody AR protestors. Took me a while to find them, since the

shopping complex decided to close all of its doors, but round the

back of the Canary Wharf Tower and there it is: about 30 protestors,

with banners and chanting " Close HLS " , surrounded by about 50 police

officers. I counted 6 police vans. A couple of police photographers

also. Spoke to one of the protestors, explained I was vegan and

appreciated what they were doing and wished her the best. Then they

moved around the corner - it was surreal really, watching all of

these police following them. The whole Canary Wharf site was brought

to a standstill, typical over-reaction really. Lots of office workers

moaning about not being able to get into the complex etc. I only

watched what was going on for about 15 minutes - but from what I saw

it was all peaceful. I even managed to chat to another onlooker and

explain what it was all about.
