Guest guest
Under your there is a page of links with farming stats. The most important one shows Europe was a net importer of food as we waste it all on " food " animals. Unenviormentally friendly, can't help prove it, but unsustainable, definitely. anastasiastatham [anastasiastatham] 27 June 2001 20:10 vegan-network [100% veg*n ] Any help please? Enviromental impacts of animal farming Hi everyone! I don't know if anyone can help. Hope so! I am trying to find any researched information on the environmental impacts of animal farming. I am doing a course which at the moment is focussed on the environmental impacts of food production. The study material mentions that 'it is frequently claimed that a diet avoiding animal products has a lower impact on the environment than one with meat and dairy'. It does nothing to support this idea though (infact I beleive the author is sceptical about the whole idea, and has swept the whole animal-free thing under the carpet. He says he eats meat himself). A vegan diet is surely better for the environment for many reasons, but I need facts and figures. Me, quite new to the internet and get nowhere fast, so if anyone knows where I could find info like this, or could point me in the right direction, I would be really grateful. If not, well, thanks anyway! kind wishes anastasia To to the Digest Mode [ recommended ], send an email to: vegan-network-digest
