Guest guest
Michael, We went to Kyle of Lochalsh a few years ago and I have a memory of it being quite a vegan-friendly place. We were oinly topping off ont he way to Skye but had a nice lunch in Seagreen which sells fish but also has a lot of vegan friendly (and marked so on the menu!) dishes. We were working form the extremely well researched " Scotland the Green " book which might be a bit out of date by now. I have dug it out and there is one veg B & B listed for Kyle of Lochalsh. If it is still in existence, even if you don't stay there it might be worth you phoning them to see where they do their shopping. Contact Brian Neath 01599 555 341. Also, I'm sure this information si available somewhere on this vast internet of information! Good luck, Gillian PS I'd decant a little bit of the various detergets I needed and take that in jam jars or something.
Guest guest
I forgot I asked that question now, maybe I should have asked whether people take their own children and fountains instead? 8-) We've booked a cottage in Plockton (about 7 miles and two train stops before Kyle) where the local shop seems to have an email address, so nearer the time I'll ask what they sell and whether they can order. Contacting Brian would also be a good idea though because I haven't seen anything online about Kyle itself and it would probably be easier to get things there. Thanks. The Seagreen restaurant is in the Vegan travel Guide and has a website, though I don't remember the address, so I'm hoping they'll be open over the Christmas week (the VTG implies they will be). I suppose if I'm taking my own toiletries a bag a couple of jars of washing up liquid and clothes washing liquid or powder wouldn't be too much extra. Thanks, Michael

Nearest place for vegan friendly toiletries I guess would be a bus run to Inverness. Dee _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. That shouldn't be too much of a problem then as because of the distance (it's amazing how long a train from Edingburgh to Inverness takes compared to the journey time to London) we are planning to stop off in Inverness on the Friday night and then go on to Plockton the Saturday morning. Partly also because we want to travel during the daylight hours and take advantage of the scenery but it would give us the chance to do some shopping for essentials.
