Guest guest
According to my copy of Vegan Shopper Tesco Jam Doughnuts are vegan, as are Marks & Spencers and Co-ops, I suggest you pretend they're not as they'll only make you plump! vegan-network, " Mccartney, Rowan (R.N.) Guest guest
I wouldnt trust them even when (I was only veggie then not vegan) my mum asked the bakery if the doughnuts (cant spell) were veggie or not and they said yes-if they don't write it on the packets I certainly won't be trusting them bekah xxx

Tuesday I ate a bread roll I later discovered had egg and milk in it (M & S floury rolls - my mum bought them), and by Wednesday my sinuses were totally stuffed up - clearing again today fortunately. So I'm inclined to think the doughnuts are safe! Helen.
Guest guest
ya know i don't think i have ever even seen a real live veganny donut...i've seen em in catalogs, at like a $1 a piece...but any donuts you get in a store, donut shop, etc . here, are certainly not going to be vegan... not only will they be covered in gooey milk and lard products..but, especially the store ones, will have enough preservatives and artificial wotzits to make them outlast the pyramids... cheers fraggle helen.stafford wrote: >vegan-network, " bekah " <rebekahaha@h...> wrote: >> I wouldnt trust them even when (I was only veggie then not vegan) my >> mum asked the bakery if the doughnuts (cant spell) were veggie or >not >> and they said yes-if they don't write it on the packets I certainly >> won't be trusting them >> >> bekah xxx > >Its not a definitive test, but I have eaten Tesco jam doughnuts with >no flair up in my hay fever. Guest guest
I think that vegan sweets are more prevalant here in the UK, actually. I'm originally from the states, so I know what you mean about doughnuts: they only seem to be available in health food shops. Alas, they don't appear too appetizing, either. k@ - EBbrewpunx vegan-network Friday, August 03, 2001 3:33 PM RE: Re: [100% veg*n ] Tesco ya know i don't think i have ever even seen a real live veganny donut...i've seen em in catalogs, at like a $1 a piece...but any donuts you get in a store, donut shop, etc . here, are certainly not going to be vegan... not only will they be covered in gooey milk and lard products..but, especially the store ones, will have enough preservatives and artificial wotzits to make them outlast the pyramids... cheers fraggle helen.stafford wrote: >vegan-network, " bekah " <rebekahaha@h...> wrote: >> I wouldnt trust them even when (I was only veggie then not vegan) my >> mum asked the bakery if the doughnuts (cant spell) were veggie or >not >> and they said yes-if they don't write it on the packets I certainly >> won't be trusting them >> >> bekah xxx > >Its not a definitive test, but I have eaten Tesco jam doughnuts with >no flair up in my hay fever.
