Guest guest
>As for John's reasons for showing Lesley a second yellow card, I >suggest you read his " Lesley's Angry Inner Child " post again. In it >he spoke of " unsubstantiated ideas " and " tabloid propaganda " -style >language. Whether anyone agrees with his choice of action or not, >these are his stated reasons and he is the list moderator. >It is easy to forget that the words we use are not the things >themselves. thank you! thank god for one other rational human being out there! i am sure that there are more, just that they keep quiet. you are *so* right jane. it is the harshness of the words that i was drawing a line on. i have had enough of people using this list to gripe and attack other on. everything comes in a context. the more aware one is of the context, the more one can understand the reaction. Lesely has this axe to grind about the London Vegans. another list member was there [ she was not ] and qualified to me what happened. unfortunately, email is the most successful tool ever invented for confusing and distorting human communication and wrecking human relationships. i just wish that people would remember that, on one hand, computers and the web are not " real life " ; and on the other hand, that it is a huge, huge, huge privilege in real world terms to have them. i may be coming across as far too pious but it saddens me to see them used solely for gossip or to spread negativity. they could be such powerful mediums of change. it is worth remembering that 60% of the world'd population has no access to any energy at all nevermind PCs and telephone wires. That even 80% could not afford a bicycle, which is a new statistic that i just read. get back On Topic folks and stop routing about in trash cans folks. thanks, john
