Guest guest
I've had similar experiences (not there though) - it does make you feel sick. The bad side of me wondered if you could sue them or something. I mean you stated what you wanted, they, either maliciously or through ignorance, provided you with something that went against that. I suppose it would be back to the " functional equivalent of a religion " argument (assuming you could sue someone on religious grounds, for example if someone gave pig products to people who abstain for religious reasons?). I used to go to the Bay Tree almost daily about 6 years ago when I was working in Glasgow and staying in hotels. It used to be very vegan frinedly (with many choices and even cakes), and I think it was a women's co-op. It did start to go downhill though about 4 years ago and I don't think its a co-op anymore. Its a shame because the food used to be good filling stuff and cheap. When I'm in Glasgow now though I prefer The 13th Note (100% vegan!!) or Grass Roots (veggie with vegan choices). vegan-network, " Morag " <manga_mog@h...> wrote: > Well, yesterday was *not* a good day for me. > > My mum came round to the flat so we decided to go and have a snack at > the local vegetarian cafe. I was talking about this to a friend just today. It really is like a religion, though to a certain extent you set your own restrictions as to just how much you exclude from/replace in your life. I didn't realise how upset I would be till this happened. Also, the taste of dairy products when you haven't eaten them for years - ewwww. >It did start to go downhill though about 4 years ago > and I don't think its a co-op anymore. Yeah, it's now owned by a family I think. They still do tasty vegan cakes, but I have heard bad things about them recently. (eg. employing people below minimum wage). 13th note and Grassroots are definitely better. Mog
