Guest guest
Well, yesterday was *not* a good day for me. My mum came round to the flat so we decided to go and have a snack at the local vegetarian cafe. Normally I'd have had their tasty vegan cake, but this time decided on a change and got an ice cream sundae which the guy at the counter assured us was vegan. But as soon as I got through the strawberry sauce and tried some of the vanilla ice cream something seemed wrong. For a start it was bright yellow (not like any soya ice cream I've seen), and eating it actually made me feel sick. Anyway I refused to eat the rest of it just in case, and on the way out we asked someone else who worked there if it was vegan. She looked horrified and said " No, it's only vegetarian, you're not vegan are you?! " I don't know if the guy had been lying or just didn't know what a vegan was, but I was so shocked, it (literally) made me sick. So if anyone goes to The Bay Tree in Glasgow, make doubly sure that what you order is vegan - or better just go somewhere else. I know I won't be eating there again. Mog (going off to eat some nice *vegan* lunch).
