AUGUST 4TH @ 8 PM ACTUP Community Space 1884 Market Street (Market @ Laguna) San Francisco, CA 94102 (415) 864-6686 Join Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) and Animal Rights Direct Action Coaltion (ARDAC) for speakers and videos about animal research at Huntingdon Life Sciences and the successful grassroots campaign to shut them down. Speakers will discuss the history of the campaign against Huntingdon Life Sciences, up and coming targets, show videos, and tell you how you can get involved to shut them down! WHO IS HLS? Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) is Europe's largest animal testing laboratory and one of the biggest in the world. HLS operates three testing centers: one in East Millstone New Jersey and two in England. Imprisoned in these notorious laboratories are 70,000 animals including dogs, cats, monkeys, birds, rabbits, fish, mice and farm animals. 500 animals are used, poisoned, and murdered in HLS's barbaric and worthless experiments every day. WHO IS SHAC? In the Spring of 2000, SHAC USA was formed to target the New Jersey laboratory and the shareholders based in America, where the largest are located. SHAC has organized regular protests outside the New Jersey lab, and have launched significant campaigns against Stephens Inc. and the Bank of New York, two of HLS's biggest investors. ARDAC San Francisco is a grassroots animal rights group campaigning against animal abuse in the Bay Area. Please join us August 4th at 8 pm to learn more about the campaign to shut down Huntingdon Life Sciences and help us smash animal research!
