Guest guest
The downside to Ecover is that they are part of the Group 4 family, who aren't such a good company. Vanish do a stain remover which is vegan, but I don't know what else the company do. Another good idea is eco-balls - I bought mine from www.greenshop.co.uk. They were about £30, but I think they are cheaper now. You put the three balls in the washing machine with no need for powder, you can turn the machine from wash to spin after 20 minutes, there is no need for a rinse cycle. It saves water, electricity (by having such a short cycle), and is better for the environment as no chemicals are used. They are supposed to last approximately 1,000 washes so saves a huge amount of money too. They come with a little tube of stain remover, but despite having two messy kids, I haven't had to use the stain remover at all yet. >EBbrewpunx >vegan-network >vegan-network >RE: Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... >Mon, 17 Sep 2001 10:34:01 -0400 > >and ecover works well also!!!!! doesn't leave a commercial residue like the > " big brands " . doesn't fade colors...gets stains out... > > >Gareth <gpashley wrote: > > >what sort of stain remover do you need?? Guest guest
Jayne, Can I just double check, this liquid style stuff Tesco do is animal free? Do you mind of I ask the source of your info (is it on teh label?) I've been in touch with Tesco customer services a few times. The out come of this I treat Tesco with complete suspicion, and basically avoid them now. Any place that sells apples which are not vegan just don't cut the mustard with me credibility. However, if the do animal free liquid shoe polish, I'll round to buy some. Guest guest
Yes, three washballs. They used to do plain or jasmine-scented, and mine were jasmine-scented, but the unscented were more popular so they don't make the scented ones anymore. You put the three balls in, no detergent, nothing else, and your clothes come out clean and fresh. I've had my ecoballs nearly two years and they are still fine. They come with a spare set of balls which go inside them, but I haven't had to change those yet. Because there are no chemicals, your clothes and washing machine are supposed to last longer too. When you get your balls, you do one empty wash with vinegar in your machine to clean the detergent out of the machine, then start washing your clothes with the washballs. Several of my friends bought them after seeing mine, and they've all been very happy with their purchases too. Another environmentally-friendly, vegan money- and resource-saving product I'd recommend (FEMALES ONLY) is the keeper - for sale on www.thekeeper.com and www.thekeeper.co.uk. It costs £26, lasts ten years, is made from sap tapped from a tree and there's no risk of TSS. The Keeper's website also sell laundry discs too now, but I don't know how they compare with the ones I bought from the Greenshop. > " Jayne Blissett " <jayneblissett >vegan-network ><vegan-network > >Re: Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... >Tue, 18 Sep 2001 23:21:37 +0100 > >hang on - are you saying you stick a couple of balls in with your clothes >and they come out stain free and smelling fine?? > > >- > " Coral - " <coral_111 ><vegan-network > >Tuesday, September 18, 2001 1:30 PM >RE: Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... > > > > The downside to Ecover is that they are part of the Group 4 family, who > > aren't such a good company. Guest guest
whoops - I got carried away - they do it but I don't know if it's vegan - don't use it myself just know it's there.. I would call the manufacturers not the outlet if I were to buy it.. I do know that Tesco concentrate on meat reducers not strict veggies and vegans??!! Great find the other week - waitrose do vegan sausages, long sausages ans schnitzel...!! and it ain't bad if you like meat substitute! I found them on the deli section near the quorn! - Soche id vegan-network Tuesday, September 18, 2001 11:49 PM Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... Guest guest
As there is no soap residue in your clothing making them hard, there is no need for conditioner - unless you particularly want your clothes to smell of a certain perfume. > " Jayne Blissett " <jayneblissett >vegan-network ><vegan-network > >Re: Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... >Wed, 19 Sep 2001 23:50:32 +0100 > >so do you use conditioner? - sorry if I'm boring the pants off of everyone >discussing my washing by the way! > >Jayne > > >- > " Coral - " <coral_111 ><vegan-network > >Wednesday, September 19, 2001 9:13 PM >Re: Re: [100% veg*n ] Can anyone recommend... > > > > Yes, three washballs.
