Guest guest
I'm in concert with the concensus about this, Rachael. Of course, you'd trust your mother to tell you the truth about ingredients, so 'twas an easy mistake to make. Still, are you quite certain that your mum fully understands the vegan diet? You may just want to reiterate for her... Dee, what you wrote about your luverly friends' shenanigans (i.e: the hilarity that would SURELY ensue if you were to find meat in your vegan sarnie. Hoo-hoo, hardy-friggin'-har!) reminded me of the sorts of japes that my chums would try to pull on me BEFORE they, themselves, went veggie. Now, they tell me that they feel ashamed and can't believe that they did some of it. Let's hope the same epiphany occurs to your mates. xxk@xx Dee Matheson [dmatheson72] 28 October 2001 13:32 vegan-network [100% veg*n ] Re: vegan question Racheal wrote... last night at >dinner my mom baked a pie and she said it was vegan so >i had a piece i found out this morning it had eggs and >milk in it. i was really upset because she didnt tell >me the truth and i dont eat animal products as well as >last night i was totally sick and throwing up and felt >gross and i think thats why. does this mean im not a >vegan becasue i had a piece. i really hope not. Sorry, I'm a bit behind in answering this. Basically, as everyone else says-it was a mistake. You did not go out of your way to cause deliberate harm to an animal. I'm sure this sort of thing has happened to most of us. If it makes you feel any better, in the past I have eaten soup with chicken stock in it [someone assured me it was vegetable stock] At a party my 'friends' thought it would be funny to put a sausage into my vegan sandwich when I wasn't looking. Ho ho ho, hilarious, eh? As far as I'm concerned, unless we choose to eat meat and dairy, then we are still living a cruelty free lifestyle as far as it is possible and practical. Guest guest
Its like the person who bought me a Red Bull the other day (with a vodka in it!) and I'm tea-total. Ha, bloody, ha!
