Guest guest
i cannot remember but someone here i am sure will - that 0.5% of ingredients in fods legally need not be listed on food packets. so, even if we know our e numbers etc there is still plenty of room for mistakes. either way we are making a stand which is more valuable than 'friends' who agree/ but well, hmm I just don't, you know , it's hard isn't it - to change 'n' all. andy Andrew Barnes 07970 075905 -------------------- talk21 your FREE portable and private address on the net at http://www.talk21.com
Guest guest
I think that you are right, as I remember reading (just not so sure where, could have been the vegan shopper), that some poppadoms, not a regular of mine anyhow, contains shellac, which never appeared on the ingredients list. Overall your best bet is to buy as many natural foods yourself and start cooking. Made all the difference for me, and allowed my meat eating friends to taste vegan foods, which on the whole they claimed to enjoy!! I agree that a partial approach is better than no approach. Guest guest
Yup, that would be the same shellac which gives some furniture glaze - a bit like beeswax - except it's from the Lac insect. Shinies the poppadom up to make it look more attractive. vegan-network, " JT " <bigbunnyboy> wrote: > I think that you are right, as I remember reading (just not so sure > where, could have been the vegan shopper), that some poppadoms, not a > regular of mine anyhow, contains shellac, which never appeared on the > ingredients list. Guest guest
I also heard that some dental mouthwashes contain ingredients that are put in the product to help prevent the machinery from rusting and nothing else, which is very reassuring!! Have you heard about this? vegan-network, steve@s... wrote: > Yup, that would be the same shellac which gives some furniture > glaze - a bit like beeswax - except it's from the Lac insect. > > Shinies the poppadom up to make it look more attractive. > > vegan-network, " JT " <bigbunnyboy> wrote: > > I think that you are right, as I remember reading (just not so > sure > > where, could have been the vegan shopper), that some poppadoms, > not a > > regular of mine anyhow, contains shellac, which never appeared on > the > > ingredients list.
