How is where you are in Sweden (urban/rural?) for vegans?
-Hi, Ian and all other members! Here in Sweden I live in Vänersborg by the lake Vänern in south Sweden. It's a quite small town with not quite few vegan-inhabitants. I only know vegetarians there yet. Moved there to study in August this year. In Stockholm, (the capitalcity of Sweden..don't know about your geography-knowledgements..) it's much better. More people are vegans and there are more vegetable products,organic, crueltyfree products to find. I have some friends here:)Here it's also more veganalternative-dishes in restaurants and here you can eat at only-veganfood-restaurants too. In Vänersborg there is one restaurant that offer one vegan-dish and chinesefood-restaurants. Tolerance to vegans variate among alla kinds of people. I have had some bad luck unfortunately, probably because I am not afraid of speaking my mind. Some of my veganfriends has also been " talked to " . Luckily we have not been abused into violence! I work some for animalrights, distrubute folders, write, read and discuss: ethics of animal and human, environment saving, healthpromotion. I never use violence in actions. Am a friendly and rather peaceful..:)human beeing:) Hope to hear from you again Ian and all you others on this list. Tell me about your veganlife where you live, please. Hug, Linda.
Linda Eriksson wrote:
& gt;
& gt; Hi veganfriends!
& gt;
& gt; I have just joined this group for have the chance
& gt; talking, getting to know you and let you know some
& gt; about me:)
& gt;
& gt; I am a vegan for every reason that might be to be a
& gt; vegan..
& gt;
& gt; For ethical reasons, for health and not least for
& gt; environmental reasons.
& gt;
& gt; I also want to practise my english, am swedish:)
& gt;
& gt; I study healthpromotion for first year of three
& gt; inkluding workpractise. Guest guest Posted November 17, 2001 Report Share Posted November 17, 2001 Linda-- Wish that I remembered how to greet you in Swedish. As a very young child, I knew several Swedish phrases, but I've forgotten them. ( Thank you for the introduction to your vegan life in Sweden. It sounds as though you are very active on behalf of the animals there -- I commend you and thank you for your work! It also seems as though Sweden might be a nice place for vegans to visit. I live in Wiltshire county, in England. I reckon that it's a good place for vegans. I live quite close to Bath, which is fairly cool from a vegan/animal rights perspective. I'm also close to Bristol... and Swindon (where Ooze magazine is published). I think that what I love most about where I live, however, is the fact that my neighbours are also vegan and animal rights. My husband and most of his family are vegetarian/vegan, as well. Yup, I'm extremely fortunate. Alright, apologies for that mind-numbing tirade, all. xxk@xx Linda Eriksson [thoughtful81] 17 November 2001 16:37 vegan-network Re: [100% veg*n ] Short presentation+ Vegan in Sweden --- Dr Ian McDonald <ian.mcdonald skrev:

 Hiya!
