Gavin,

If you live near a Co-op that is the best supermarket to shop at. They

label food suitable food as vegan. This includes fruit juices which are

free from some of the usual stumbling blocks. Other Co-op brand drinks are

probably appropriately labelled as well, but I don't notice because it's

fruit juice I'm inot.

Regards,

Steve.

I guess it also depends on the reason why you are becoming a vegan. If its

a health issue, then you might like to consider that most of these soft

drinks are full of rubbish and not healthy at all. :)

Fruit juice is healthy. Get yourself down the Co-op.

Juice is okay, I was thinking more of ordinary *soft drinks* like squashes,

colas, lemonades etc. :)

I am sure that there is a lot out there worse than fruit juice in

terms of unhealthy, but I am not sold on the idea of processed fruit

juice as being all that healthy!!

A lot of fruit being taken in without any fibre to retard the intake

of sugars blows the mind in terms of truly healthy.

Am I being a little (or a lot) anal here?

I think I know the answer, and will shut up now!!

I can certainly see your point, but at least it's natural. Sure it

may contain harmful pesticides and other things which could be

carcienoginic (yes, I spelt that wrong, so don't blame me if you

have to write an essay on cancer causing agents), but there is a

point where you have to stop being dumb and just drink the juice.

It's nice and sweet and tastes really good. I have never liked fizzy

drinks anyway. They suck.

About the fibre not being there to balance, this is a valid point,

but at least the sugar is not added, it is proper natural fructose,

and the only real harm I see it doing in normal quantities is

damaging your teeth a bit! If you drink masses and masses, I think

you could have problems with excessive Vitamin C intake - I can't

rememeber what these effects are, but I'm sure I read about them

somewhere. When I have apple juice (definitely my favourite drink of

all) I usually have a few glasses at once, and have been known to

drink full litre cartons on occassion. It doesn't do me any harm,

and I even have still decent teeth, despite my fairly poor dental

care re & #285;ime. Yes, I am lazy!

liquid in a bottle (fruit flavoured normally) that you mix with water to

make a soft frink. :) Sorry! Our countries are so alike, and yet so

different.
