Guest guest
>A lot of fruit being taken in without any fibre to retard the intake >of sugars blows the mind in terms of truly healthy. >Am I being a little (or a lot) anal here? no, you are dead right bunnyboy. you've got the truth transfix in the middle of the road with the headlights of your reason. this fruit juice is good for you business is as much bullshit as " pure " written on everything from haircare products to margarine. pure crap. check the statistic of kids loosing their two front teeth for having been fed so called fruit juices from teated bottles from infancy. it is pure pasturised rot. look at the history and it goes back to the days when juices were juices, freshly squeezed by the love of your granny, and the average diet meat, lard and two overcooked veg and doctors knew ever less than they did today about nutrition [ is that possible??? ]. then anything else was good for you, especially at avoiding scurvy. i reckon reconstituted concentrated pasturised fruit juices are as 99% bad as pure sugar. they have no " life " factor left in them at all that might actually make then healthy. pasturised fruit and vegetable juices suffer likewise. unless it is fresh you are not really doing yourself any favour. the former also gives kids real problems with the squits etc and so must be diluted further. i guess you could also factor in the environmental factor of paying to truck water in cartons around the world when you could just buy the fruit syrup and add you own local water. there is an additional factor with veg*ns that they really off set the sodium potassium balance that is so important to health. or the yin yang as the macrobiotics would say. our diet tends to be potassium high and sodium low, very yin rather than yang. and cold sweet tropic juices in winter do nothing help balance it. what you need is a supply of instant miso soups and twig tea; to grow out of a sweetie mentality instilled in childhood. so i am as anal as well. but right. and there is nothing more vegan than being anally righteous. >How did I manage before joining >this list? The info is just >invaluable. Got a day trip to >London soon, so tipt on places to >eat/shop much appreciated. try Fresh and Wild in Brewer Street, open until 10.30 pm. Country Life just round the corner for a sit down meal. just spoke to the customer care line at Tescos having become so miserable at thenumer of veggie products that have been " improved " by having cream added to them. they have vegetarian and vegan product lists and wills end them out to you promising not to send out spam afterwards. there is a local and a freephone number but try 0845 7225533 and ask them to print vegan or dairy free on the packages.
