Know of any websites I can visit? I've been there. Mainly because I went vegan when I was still young enough to gobble and gobble and stay thin, so I had to deal with getting older . I just looked at the calorie counts on foods and tried to keep it down. Plus regular moderate excercise. I've heard that starches and fruit sugars are easier to burn than fats. I reduced my daily calorie intake until I started to lose weight, and let myself come down gradually over a few months. I'm not one myself, but I'll say that all the fruitarians I know are very thin. I've got no idea what your goals are, and you probably know this, but a healthy weight range (in kilos) is between 20 and 25 times the square of your height (in metres). I have occsionally met people who were after some ultra-thin shape rather than what was healthy. (And that's forgetting the poor anorexic of my aquaintance.) > Thanks! > Honor > > _______________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp > > > To to the Digest Mode [ recommended ], send an email to: vegan-network-digest > >
Guest guest
Oh, no, I'm not after the anorexic look! No way! But I've just heard how the sugars in fruits only make one more bloated and I'm always afraid of overloading in protein from tofu, beans and legumes...although I know I need it to build the muscles, do you know how much is appropriate for someone who is on a diet? And I drink a lot of soy milk...is that a bad idea for a person after weight loss? Thanks! You might know more than me. I'd guess that if fruits give water retention (never heard of that, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen), it's only temporary. I remember stuff about * 5 servings of fruit and veg a day * Meals with 50% veg, 25% protein (tofu, beans, legumes), 25% starch (potatoes, pasta) So those are the ratios, I guess. -- Ian McDonald http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~type40/alternative.html http://travel.to/startrekcolony - Star Trek: Colony site & .mov http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~type40/who-rpg.html - Dr. Who RPGs
