Guest guest
Like most big food stores TESCO will only change if there is bad publicity at risk or they will make money. I know for certain that when I personally met the head veggie buyer from TESCO I failed in my big attempt to move them from focusing purely on meat reducers - despite lending them tons of material for them to feed on! do you know that even their veggie food is battery eggs and their excuse... not enough free range eggs in the world to supply their needs.. I was not amused - especially as now TESCO is a global player and a major UK company - they have 197,000 employees in the UK alone Maybe - we should start up a hassling session to the major non conforming supermarkets and hear the latest.. Any support out there for this idea? Anyone got any latest news on their thoughts JB - steve vegan-network Thursday, November 22, 2001 9:52 PM Re: [100% veg*n ] re: fruity wonder Great stuff - Co-op's alone was the only mainstream labelling, which was most excellent of them, but hopefully as you say Asda & Sainsburys follow suit. Tesco are suppossed to be a good supermarket, so if everyone else starts vegan labelling, they better get their arse into gear if they are to be supported! vegan-network, Soche id <socheid> wrote: > Co-op's vegan product labelling I has already been mentioned a excellent. > I have read (but not seen it for myself to confirm) that both Asda and now > also Sainsbury have started a vegan a product labelling policy.
