Guest guest
Dear Friends, I am often asked for an alternative to milk. Here's a treat that is the sweetest, vitamin-filled gift of nature that I've ever found, and ounce for ounce contains more calcium than human breast milk! * I've got a secret, and I shouldn't tell, because it will ruin things a bit for me, but what the heck. We're friends, right? Promise to keep this between us! Last year, I found a source for the best oranges grown on this planet. Trouble is, it's an extremely tiny farm in the heart of Florida's citrus growing area, and within hours of posting this column, the fruit will be sold out! Regarding today's column, PLEASE do NOT tell your friends. I've already ordered and paid for my cases. I recommend that you go for the satsumas and navels! I know the farmer, Dave Fedor. Sports fans might recognize that name. Dave once played professional basketball with Wilt Chamberlain. He now has two jobs. Dave's a high school teacher and an orange grower. When you purchase oranges from your supermarkets, you're getting under-ripe fruit that's often been gassed to give them an artificially ripe appearance. All of Dave's fruit naturally ripens on his trees, and the fruit is shipped directly to you soon after it's picked. Dave uses no pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers on his crops. To him, that would be the worst kind of offensive foul. Dave uses just certified organic methods. Jason's Argonauts risked their lives searching for the golden fleece and golden apples. Many historians believe that those apples were actually oranges. These oranges are truly a gift from the gods. There is no better treat in all of nature than the moments after UPS delivers a box of those satsumas. I'll devour two or three in the process of bringing that box into my kitchen. Like a Pavlovian canine, I salivate at the imagery of my first taste of this season's miracle fruit. *According to USDA, 100 grams of human breast milk contain 33 milligrams of calcium. The same sized portion of Florida oranges contains 40 milligrams of calcium. To order, go to: http://www.flnaturalcitrus.com Tell Dave that the NOTMILKMAN sent you!
