Guest guest
I am sorry this is such a cheesey thing to say, but yes, Happy Valentine's day folks. wishing you all the warm love you want. .... but not cut flowers. I am not into cut flowers. whereas I might squash the odd slug, I feel mortified if I accidentally break a flower and feel duty bound to eat it in order to assimilate its life force experience into mine and validate its existence in someway worthwhile! beauty has to be most sacred [ naomi campbell being the exception to that rule ]. sorry, did someone mention California. I went all New Agey there. [ but still eat flowers in the East End ] Provomel [ spelt right ] is one of the leading European manufacturers of soya milk. although they cant call it milk any more thanks to the udder competition. they also make single soya cream, which is delicious, and a series of desserts which are a little better than gunk, as said. custard I better description - but then we probably are not allowed to call it custard either. vanilla, carob, they used to do chocolate too. to be honest, they are pretty good on the old no sugar line, there is always a sugar frfee choice, and the desserts are great cold on hot. my favourite is either sprinkled heavily with fresh cinnamon power. sprinkled just where is another secret. the only fault they have is that the so called serving for 4 all too often seems to evaporate and disappear in my kitchen. and I live all by myself. bad teeth : did anyone else hear or read of a recent dental survey that targeted vegan and especially fruitarians [ if there actually is really such a beast ] of having bad teeth from having digested too much fruit sugars. I think it went under the titles of " an apple a day does not keep the dentist away " or something. this is one criticism that I think may well be valid. obvious most scientific studies attacking v*gan lifestyles are bollox. I know my own dentist warned me that my enamel was becomind thin and I have not physically bought sugar for at least ten years. the research focused on the fairly artificial new breeds of apples, and other fruit, that iare now 50 % sweeter that apples used to be. bred especially for supermarkets and so on. it is another bitter worm in the barrel typical of our modern world I don¹t know about where you lie, but round here we are given the choice of two " apples " . a yellow one or a red one. keep it simple for the consumers, don¹t spoil them for choice, make sure all the apples are the same size and shape so no one complains, and heaven's above don¹t let one in with a blemish ... why don¹t they just feed up plastic bags? wet toothless kisses all round, john
