Peter Singer's " Animal Liberation " is often described, to Prof Singer's

annoyance, as the bible of the animal rights movement. But I'm only just

reading it, and I've been ten years a vegan.

 

It's a summary of the utilitarian case for treating pain the same,

whether felt by homo sapiens or canis canis. With lots of examples of

man's inhumanity to brutes.

 

Not every vegan agrees with it, of course.

food revolution by robbins is my fave at the moment

but
