Guest guest
My kids are vegan----youngest is now14 . You just have to be prepared to occasionally go without /take your own food/not go. Usually you can eat something. If you eat a non-vegan product by mistake ,or your son does donn't get too upset by it Good Luck - lacie farmer vegan-network Wednesday, February 27, 2002 12:12 AM [100% veg*n ] anyone raising vegan kids? Just wondering if anyone else is raising kids out there. My son is vegetarian but not vegan yet. He'll probably make the switch within the year. It will be easy for him to be vegan at home as I am vegan, it's school and outside social events that I'm dreading. Greetings - Send FREE e-cards for every occasion! Guest guest
Hmm...yes school is potentially a nightmare. I get by at school although I STILL haven't asked them to provide special meals for me. I'm actually still really afraid of doing it...it's always me causing a scene of some sort and I'm not sure they'd take it too well. But I was talking to a veggie girl in the year above me and she doesn't eat most of the school meals because she finds them too stodgy and really difficult to digest. The salad is awful and there's always a massive cue. I don't eat too well at school! We are planning to complain and write letters and stuff..it's got to be worth doing I guess-to make it easier for future vegans if nothing else.
