Guest guest
Hi All. Here in the UK I am well aware of a large number of vegan shaving creams, but can anyone suggest where I might find a similarly ethical razor? This seems to be less obvious, Gilette and Wilkinson Sword (Warner Lambert) seem to have things sewn up. Do they make blades for supermarkets/other smaller companies, or do I actually have a choice beyond these unethical multinationals? Thanks for your time, Matt. Do they make > blades for supermarkets/other smaller companies, Tescos do their own brand of copy blades for most makes of razor which is what I use now that I been told about Gilette's sins. my guess is that there are companies out in the Far East knocking them out for all the manufacturers but I don¹t know the answer to this. I have often thought that the only real ethical way to go is using by using a real cut throat razor but have so far bottled out of that for fear of my own safety. besides, how to sharpen then except for on a leather strap? electric razors I am no fan off at all. I have never used specially shaving cream. I have always reckoned that was all bollocks marketing, more tins being bad for environment and hated the perfumes they use. call me an old geezers but men did not do cosmetics in my day. what I prefer is the same simple rough olive oil soap that I wash with and that they used in the Mediterranean for everything; chin, arm pits, hair, shirt collars but not necessarily in that order. the kind of stuff you could imagine Anthony Quinn limbering up with before setting sail with the Argonauts. It is sold in wholefood shops, Greek and Turkish stores. folks have shown me that essential oil based shaving oil stuff which looks fine but never made a special effort to find it. always seems a bit dear. john
