Guest guest
any real pizza shop [ not a chain please ] will do you a vegan pizza if you ask for the cheese to be taken off. traditionally, in italy it has a proper name and is folder in half with just vegetables, herbs and olive oil. the only chain I could support is Pizza Express and their Veneziana without cheese and with extra spinach. 50 p goes to save Venice which is why I can conscience it. there is an issue about the trays being used for omni-pizzas, the staff not washing their hands as they touch ham and eggs etc and the oven being shared but when I have to sin, I go early in the evening when they are quiet. but they were the originals and even though becoming commercialised [ read pizzas smaller ], at least they are a little stylish and upmarket. there are plenty of small independents, real Italians usually go the full distance is you ask nicely. they care about good food whatever your preference. in Italy, it is great for vegans. one favour folks. if you have swear or use crass language please keep it off the top lines as they go on 's home page and make the list look bad. scatology and food really does not mix well. unless of course, you work for a large chain. thanks, john

Be careful though. All but one of the independant pizza places around here (Lexington, Kentucky, USA) have cheese in their sauce, so make sure to ask. My former favorite was a little hole in the wall place called Slice of Chicago, until one day I happened to notice little specks of parmesean in the tomato sauce... The only chain here that doesn't use cheese in the sauce is Papa John's, but their pizza is pretty crummy tasting ( " Better ingredients, better pizza " , my eye.), plus it is WAY cheaper to just make my own. - Cheryl ..................................... http://www.pickleflick.com/bean http://www.livejournal.com/~ratties AIM: triceratops bean " I'm melting!
