I only said they were my favourite dish, I don't eat them all the time though, and probably will even less knowing that. They are more needed in Israel than here. > and coffee fall under the same criticism - and I would agree (while still > eating chocolate). I agree with everything you said about smoking, but even though rollups aren't ethical they are moreso than marlboros for example, Phillip Morris ( Marlboro company) chucks native africans off their homelands in Africa to grow tobacco! I read a worrying report that nicotine is more addictive than heroin. I'm starting to believe that, today I gave my pouch to a tramp (cos I'm giving up again) and am already feeling the symptoms Mainstream chocolate is verry unethical cos the workers at the bottom of the industrial process in Columbia get paid next to nothing for extremely long hours work. Plamil is one vegan chocolate make that is organic, ie probably more ethical. > > Anyhow, rant over ;-) > > You should be able to find other vegans in kent. I have tried to contact other vegans in the area, maybe haven't tried hard enough. But am getting to know the people in a local food shop. > recently also), I have at times had a personal rule about only sleeping > with vegans. Veganism has really fucked up my social and sex life. I don't care though much at the moment (probably tied up with the fact that I smoke), I spend a lot of time with people I don't like at the moment because people I don't like are more likely to ask me challenging questions about veganism, and I have no qualms about telling them exactly what I think about the meat industry and the whole idea of being a human carnivore. I wouldn't mind some real friendships though! I couldn't have a close friendship or relationship with anyone who wasn't vegan. > That is after all > why meat eaters are so upset by vegans - we challenge them even if we say > nothing.
