Guest guest
just found a nice little new savoury snack emblazoned with the legend " Vegan and Bio " call Space Bar by Topas in Germany. get your local wholefood shop to stock them now. I'll always grouch about the quality of most vegan and wholefood snack that are all too often more like punishment than nourishment and the fact that there are so few savoury snakcs in comparison to sweeties is something else that pees me off. I just don¹t want to eat sweeties all day. I am an adult. this is not bad at all, kind of like a vegan equivalent to beef jerky or those long thin sausages you get from Italy etc. seitan, hemp, some spices and hemp seeds, onion and yeast extract. well that may not sound that exciting but it ends up a nice chewy little vit B bar that does not bloat you all up.. > " When first founded, the RSPCA and ASPCA were radical groups, far ahead > of the public opinion of their times, ... Gradually, however, as > these organizations grew in wealth, membership, and respectability, they > lost their radical commitment and became part of the " establishment " . " or otherwise, ' co-opted by the " establishment " ' so as not to continue to be radical and a threat to the status quo. vis-à-vis Honor problems with her local animal protection society. I am not a great conspiracy theoretian, and lean far more to putting these things down to social entropy, the lazy collective psychology of human beings and their resistance to real and fundamental changes in general, but big changes take radicalism. it always seems that we need the Berserkers first off the boat to break the beachhead and this is where the likes of Barry Horne fit in. I don't know the history of the RSPCA but I bet the odd activist was duffed up in local farmyards or pilloried in slaughterhouses. and I don¹t know how much more than a salve on the conscience of little old ladies and the middle classes the RSPCA is. I'll wait until it comes out about vegetarianism before give it any great respect. " more gravy with your lamb, vicar? " ... at the committees monthly do et al. what is the breakdown of folks killed and injured by the opposition to animal rights movement and folks actually killed and injured by the animal rights movement? I cant think of any that have been killed by AR, although the guy from Huntingdon did have his head cut [ poor thing ]. on the other hand, I can think a more than a few that have been hurt by the opposition, that Jill from the live export demo being the first actual death. at least you are climbing down from your pejorative " firebomber " libel, doctor. I just wish that you could prove me wrong that taking the establishment's side and the establishment's route actually made things happen faster. personally, I don¹t do violence against the property of animal abuses but I would not put down those that do. there is a clear difference between the strategy of deliberate economic damage against offenders and plain arson. john
