He's a shock jock?

Although some claim that the truck that knocked Jill down was waved

through by a police officer who could see exactly what was happening,

and was therefore culpable, we ought to at least consider the

possibility that that was an accident.

I keep hearing reports about violent police or hunt supporters, so I

expect that some of them are true. But I haven't heard of intimidation

and terror used as a strategy.

On the AR side, deliberate personal violence sounds fairly rare. (Didn't

someone blow up a car in Bristol?) Intimidation, on the other hand, is

accepted far too often. The names and phone numbers of HLS employees are

given out, and people are encouraged to call, with a high turnover of

HLS employees an explicit aim. HLS shareholders are doorstopped. I am

tired of hearing media reports of AR people threatening pro-Animal

experiment scientists. Some reports may be exaguarrated or false: but I

know from the vegan movement that whilst personal violence usually

remains taboo, it's not too difficult to find people who tacitly support

terror.

This makes it far too easy to portray AR people as the terrorist

villains. It also makes it trivial to justify hiding experimental

procedures from the harsh light of a free press and a public debate.

When did I say that? Barry Horne was convicted of making and planting

incendiary devices. Unless I have the language of violence wrong, that

is the same thing as a " firebomb " . It is perjorative, yes, but it's not

a libel. Barry was a firebomber.

And although I do take the establishment, legal, route, I don't take

their side :).

Barry's methods were very dangerous: he put his firebombs in product. At

least one of which was taken back to family homes.

But yes, the distinction between property vioelence and personal

violence is ignored by the media. Particularly when someone is trying to

label organisations like Earth First " terrorist " .

Did some filter lock onto the words in our discussion and decide we were

wannabe criminals? These adverts are beyond parody, sometimes.
