Guest guest
Hello, In one Russian speaking forum I was pointed to article entitled " Cucumbers feel pain " , article is here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/russian/sci/tech/newsid_1967000/1967127.stm It starts with " Times found out that vegetables can feel " They wrote about discovery made by scientists from Bonn University. And after this they write about feeling vegetables and many anti ethical-vegetarian/vegan things. (they specially mention that after this discovery there is no sense in being ethical vegetarian) I've tried to find English version of this article on bbc.co.uk, but was unsuccessful, it's when I started to be really suspicious about this article. I found main article which was source for Russian BBC article: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly/0,,1-2-285331,00.html Here they write that vegetable when damaged start emitting some sorts of sounds. But there is not a word " feel " in this article. I've continued my investigation, and found e-mail of Doctor Frank Kuhnemann of Bonn University (f.kuehnemann) and site of this experiment: http://www.iap.uni-bonn.de/pas/Photoakustik.htm But it's in German language. I will send e-mail to people from http://peta.de and http://vegan.de with request to investigate this. I've already send e-mail to Doctor Frank Kuhnemann, but I'm still waiting for response. Also I'm looking for contacts with English vegetarian/vegan societies, these societies should force BBC to put disclaimer to that article in Russian. What also could be done about it? Please CC to my e-mail address, I don't always have time to read forums. Thank you in advance. -------- Best regards, vegan Royal Web Hosting - Royal Quality Hosting
