Guest guest
Levi's patch is not leather. I have a pair of levi's I bought less than a year ago (I guess it could have changed since then), and the patch tears. I was never big into leather before I went vegan, but it tears way easier than I'd think leather would. Just an idea- but non-leather patch jeans might be available online. They are for me, but I'm in the super-economy-buy-anything US Jon J http://www.geocities.com/holist2002/GMOharms.html (actual GMO harms, how to avoid GMOs. support the US bill requiring labels for GMOs) - " persistant_dreamer " <persistant_dreamer <vegan-network > Tuesday, June 04, 2002 4:46 PM [100% veg*n ] Leather patches > The patch on most <good> (i.e.: branded) jeans is leather in European > brands - that includes US imports of Wrangler, Lee and Levi (I asked > all three suppliers, and they told me the patch is leather) > > Some cheaper brands use the card/cotton mix fake leather, but it's > very hard to tell - only a good sniff at the patch will let you know > most of the time; I wasn't saying that all jeans are bad, just all > the ones I find... > > Small City life... > > But then, to travel hundreds of miles to buy clothing is detrimental > to the environment for no good reason. > > The thing that annoys me is that no-one at the large companies seems > to understand that this is an issue; they just don't get it! > > Gary > > > > To to the Digest Mode [ recommended ], send an email to: vegan-network-digest > >
