Guest guest
That's a symptom of scurvy-lack of vitamin C. Try taking 500 mg of acerola rose hips natural cherry flavored vitamin C twice a day and a good vegan daily multivitamin. these can be found at health food stores. You also might be eating or drinking something that is irritating your mouth. It could also be makeup that is causing a reaction. Go to a dermatologist ask about Desowin cream. Do you use a dipilatory on your lips? - cynthiakg21701 vegan-network Friday, June 28, 2002 10:58 PM [100% veg*n ] Advice? I recently changed to a vegan diet and it is going even better than I had hoped. However, I was wondering about a problem I am having. I am having trouble with the skin cracking on my lips at the sides of my mouth. I have never had any problems with lip cracking sores and wonder if changing diet has affected this. Sorry to be a little gross. These cracks in my lips at the sides of my mouth cannot be due to contact with someone else, as I am celibate. Guest guest
I had the same problem quite severely at uni, but I associated it with stress, as I was trying to do my dissertation and it wasn't going very well at the time. I also got it a bit every few years, though not so badly, when I was vegetarian. I have no idea what caused it really, but I don't *think* I was vitamin C deficient. I'm going to eat all of the limes I brought from the market now though ). Sorry to not be much help - just thought I'd let you know you're not the only one. _______________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
Guest guest
Wow! How kind and wise you all are! I feel much better with all of the advice I got on this topic. And, I am very pleased that I can try some natural remedies before I go hang out at the doctor's office and pay money just to hear from him that I have " mouth sores " . <duh> Cynthia kiwi2000 [kiwi2000] Saturday, June 29, 2002 8:43 AM vegan-network Re: [100% veg*n ] Advice? Guest guest
I don't know of anyone who's had that trouble, it could be just your body adjusting to it's new way of life, maybe get some of that lip balm stuff? Or some vitamin E cream would probably be best. I think I seem to remember my body did a few strange things for the first couple of months, but can't remember exactly what it was. Settled down pretty quickly though. Love Shell.
