Guest guest
Rosanne, Aspirin is based on willow. American Indians used to smoke or chew red willow, though I think that's for ceremonies rather than soley for pain relief. Have you asked if aspirin is vegan? Can't see why it shouldn't be. There must be *something* in conventional medicine that is anti-inflammatory and vegan, surely? Alternatively, you might try Feverfew, as it's really common (I have some in my garden that seeded itself) and this link says its good for a load of different things (I've only used it to ease a headache). http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/f/feverf10.html _______________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com

Guest guest
I had painful knees The Dr prescribed Ibruprofen . I said I didn't need a pain killer . he said it was also an anti-inflammatory. I decided not to bother till it became really bad . A week or so later the pain had gone . This proves taking nothing works too !!!! (and it hadn't been tested !!!) Good luck Angie rzanuk [rzanuk] 09 July 2002 11:24 vegan-network [100% veg*n ] Ibuprofen, Asprin or alternative Need an anti inflammatory for a joint problem. Dr has said ibuprofen or aspirin, preferably ibuprofen. Pharmacist can't find vegan ibuprofen which doesn't suprise me but can't find one without animal ingredients either. Any suggestions?
