Ah good to see the vegan police are still alive and well...

because to try and find a vegetarian, or even more difficult, a

vegan mate would have been infinitely more difficult as those of us

who choose not to compromise have discovered. How could you love a

person, you being a vegan, who does not share your outrage at the

murder and torture of billions of beautiful, innocent beings and in

fact participates in it? If this isn't a sellout, I don't know what

is. Sorry but it isn't just a matter of bing different. It's the

difference between being a murderer and being a person who is trying

to stop the murderer from killing. I always find amazing the degree

to which human nature can allow people to rationalize and deny

anything and everything no matter how glaringly hypocritical.

between us (granted I don't cook meat and he seems to like my vegan

meals and he seems to be thinking about becoming a vegetarian-

ovo, lacto). Still if he never changes, I love him just the same. I

understand the want to share your life with another vegan, but from

my experience I would have lost out on a lot if I had refused to see

a meat eater. But then again, he's Baptist and I'm Wiccan so I

guess we just like being different.

I am about to marry a meat eater. I never thought I could or would.

He has always cleaned his teeth after eating and has not eaten beef for

about 3 of our 4 years together - as I expressed how the strong smell

churned my stomach. Then when a year or so ago I explained (in tears) that I

couldn't marry him because I couldn't cope with 'the meat thing', he offered

to stop eating meat in front of me.

So I am now marrying a meat eater who never eats meat in front of me, never

has it in the house and even eats veggie when we are at friends houses - and

they all accept his choice. We have agreed that he will not tell me if he

eats meat at work etc..

I think I have done more for the vegan cause by having a meat eater who VERY

rarely eats meat than releasing him into the big wide world to eat what he

wants.

He has watched all the videos and listened in detail to why I am vegan but

hasn't yet made the connection in his head. He is a kind and loving 'step

dad' to my 2 dogs and swerves to avoid rabbits etc on the road - just no

meat animal connection yet, and in fairness he doesn't think there ever will

be.

I couldn't eat meat to keep him - aren't I lucky to be loved so much and due

to the love he has for me - aren't the animals lucky too!
