There are some very easy way to reduce the accidnetal killings also. Gardening is an excellent way (also lets you have 100% pesticide/herbicide-free food, and eliminates transportation from the equation, can use less water, cause zero erosion) For energy, increasing energy efficiency (sealing insulation leaks, having an efficient refrigerator, insulating pipes), reducing energy use, and using renewable energy are easy and save $ from bills. Solar cells can reduce energy bills, and pay for themselves over time. And generally buying what you need, but not always what you want, can reduce the harms greatly.
