>It seemed to me that Graham was putting down

vegans in general as people he wouldn't want to associate closely

LOL! My 4 children are vegan and I sleep with a vegan every night! can't get

much closer than that can you???

>with and making caricatures of them, in favor

of hanging out with with people who make no attempt whatsoever at

improving the lot of beings on this planet.

Or did I miss something there?

Yes.

I couldn't give a flying fuck what you think about my friends, Brad. BTW,

how do you know what they care or don't care about? Where do you get off on

passing judgement about people you 've never even met just because they

don't happen to fit into *your* ethical framework? Maybe my friends care

deeply about the issues that are important to them but don't feel the need

to moralise and evangelise every waking hour of the day. At least they don't

slag folk off and cross post to every email list on the internet. How

'ethical' is that?

> Wasn't he making sweeping generalizations?

It wasn't a fucking manifesto, it was part of an email discussion. I was

being flippant but with a grain of truth- you then proceeded to totally

prove my point, LOL!

I did not cross post. I didn't even belong to Muslim-Veg. That was Maynard

copying from another group.

Oh NOW you say you were being flippant. It didn't sound flippant at all. It's

interesting how you qualify and twist what you said after the fact. Very neat!

Isn't all of this just an e-mail discussion?

Just think of it as one big list. That makes it very simple.

Well that is because you are a flipping plonker who doesn't

understand things like *humour*, or being *tongue in cheek* you

plonker!

If as you said there's these meat eaters smoking in a pub I know a few things. I

know they don't car much about their own

health or that of others otherwise they wouldn't be smoking and having others

breathe in their smoke and I know that they

aren't concerned much with the lives of other beings otherwise they wouldn't be

eating them. Those aren't judgements.

Those are facts unless they are so dumb that in the face of overwhelming medical

evidence they still think smoking is fine

and unless they are in such deep sleep while awake that it never occurs to them

that the burger they consume was once a

living breathing life. Are these bad people? In some sense yes. Just as I was

bad in those ways when I did these things.

I would rather be with people who questioned the established norm, such as it

is, and who make some effort at changing themselves

and others than the pub group as nice as they may be in other ways.

What I think is really happening is that you conveniently twist what you say

after the fact to squirm out

of being caught by the tail.

Well the posts are there in the archives for all to see so I guess

the rest of the group can decide who is conveniantly squirming and

who is a plonker.

Thanks for brightening my day yet again ;-)
