Guest guest
As far as eating out around New Zealand is concerned I have not had that much luck, so you can imagine my surprise when I managed to find a vegan cafe. I was about to go mad and buy as much food as I could possibly eat in one go, when I noticed that a lot of the products contained honey. I know it's debatable as to whether vegans should eat honey or not. Everyone sets their own limits. But I have chosen not to eat honey. I don't know...perhaps I would consider it if I knew there were no bees crushed in the process, but unless I was present at the making of it, I wouldn't know. What do you think? Is not eating honey or using bee products really taking it to extremes? Oh dear, sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding places. Where have you been so far, and where is the vegan cafe? > What do you think? However I wouldn't chastise a vegan who ate honey of course. Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.

I think it depends on the source- I wouldn't use honey from a supermarket, but have no problem with 'home scale' honey, eg, as produced on a small scale as a by-product of sound, organic orchard management. Guest guest
Thanx for replies. That's interesting to know about how they kill the bees off in winter in the states. I'll have to find out if all countries who produce honey do the same. I didn't know that. >Oh dear, sorry to hear that you're having trouble >finding places. Guest guest
Thats a lot of useful information, Graham. It's answered many questions. I think if I were going to eat honey or use bee products I would like to organise something like that myself.
