BAVRT is NOT a drop-in dinner event.

As always, you come under your own liability for all events. Pass

the word to your friends. This is not an exclusive net-folks only

event. This is not an activist group or singles event. Note that

if you plan to attend this dinner, you can order only vegetarian

dishes, even if the restaurant serves other stuff.

If you have suggestions for future sites, please e-mail them to

. If you want to volunteer host a BAVRT dinner,

please let me know!!

#1) This month's trek

Ana graciously agreed to host this month's trek in East bay.

She chose Red Sea restaurant in Oakland, an Ethiopian restaurant.

This restaurant is planning to type up all their vegan dishes on

a separate menu and give it to BAVRT members! This will avoid

ordering hassles.

Entrees are between $7 and $9, appetizers from $2 to $5. There

seems to be around a dozen or so entrees in the menu. Restaurant

has told us that they can accommodate various levels of spiciness

in their food and some other special requests.

Make sure to RSVP for this dinner.

#2) Last month's trek

Cheryl hosted last month's dinner at Golden Buddha in Soquel (next

to Santa Cruz). Six people came for this dinner. This dinner proved

to be a highly enjoyable and cozy dinner, with everybody chatting

with everybody else. Those of you who attended BAVRT dinners

almost 10 years ago, would fondly remember such dinners.

Some BAVRT members have requested more member interactions at

dinners. Afterall, the large turnout at most BAVRT dinners

usually is not too conducive to meeting and chatting with

everybody. Do you have any suggestions that you are freely

willing to share as to how this may be done (ice breaker games

or social time before dinners etc?)

After dinner, we went to Saturn cafe for desserts.

#3) Car-less lifestyle

Currently I am leading a " car-less " lifestyle in Monterey. It is

easy enough to go to work or other routine day-to-day things using

public transport. Going to parties and similar events are harder.

Last month, took Greyhound bus to attend BAVRT dinner!

Some BAVRT members have tried going " car-less " from time to time.

Have you tried it and how long were you able to do that?
