Guest guest
http://www.ar2005.org/ Animal Rights 2005 is the animal rights movement's annual national conference. It is a forum for sharing knowledge, discussing strategies and tactics, networking, and " recharging our batteries. " Animal Rights 2005 brings our movement together under the banner of animal liberation from all forms of human oppression. All viewpoints & factions that support this goal are welcome (except for attacks on other animal protection activists or organizations and advocacy of bodily injury to living beings). We host a variety of opinions and debates in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Animal Rights 2005 reflects America's continuing concern with terror. Indeed, it is dedicated to exposing and challenging the terror perpetrated by our society every day against billions of innocent, sentient nonhuman animals. PROGRAM FEATURES The four-day program features nearly 90 presenters from more than 50 organizations representing every faction of our movement. They appear in eight Plenary Sessions, 50 Workshops, 30 Campaign Reports, and 7 Rap Sessions. Other elements include Exhibits, Videos, Newcomer Orientation, Group Workouts, Strategy Meetings, Welcome and Networking Receptions, Awards Banquet, and entertainment by AR performers. The program will begin on Thursday, July 7, at 4pm with the Welcome Reception, followed by the Opening Plenary at 7:30pm. It will close on Sunday, July 10, with the Awards Banquet and Closing Reception at 10pm. On Monday, July 11, some organizations are planning Post-Conference Activities, including intensive hands-on seminars, demonstrations, and meetings. The daily schedule will commence on Friday at 9am with Newcomer Orientation (for folks attending their first conference), as well as Workshops, Rap Sessions, Exhibits, and Videos. Workshops, Rap Sessions, and Campaign Reports will run between 9am - 12noon and 1:30 - 5:30pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. The Organizing track will seek to improve personal and organizational effectiveness. The Remedies track will address campaign strategies and outreach to various constituencies. Rap Sessions and Campaign Reports will involve participants in heated debates about controversial issues and address current and recent campaigns. Exhibits of movement merchandise, display materials, and literature will be open between 9am - 6pm on Friday - Sunday. The Videos will be shown concurrently in the Conference Theater.
