Guest guest
Nice to meet you, Selissa! (((welcome to the group))) Love, Cherie an introduction HI, My name is Selissa.
Guest guest
Hi and welcome Selissa, May I make a suggestion? If you go to Barnes and Noble dot com and click on cookbook vegetarian, you will find a list of books on Vegan cooking and philosophy and information. I would go through the list and copy and paste all books you would be interested in if you had the money to buy them all. I did that in my word program. That way you would have a record of the books available to you, and see what is in the library or what you can buy when the opportunity pops up. Susan R. - Selissa Sunday, September 21, 2003 8:44 AM an introduction HI,My name is Selissa. I'm 25 (wow just a couple months until 26!), happily married, and the mother to an absolutly wonderful almost 8 month old baby boy. I believe in attatchment/natural parenting and can easily say that being a mother has made me a better person.I have always been an animal lover and have always hated the meat industry. but the couple times i tried to go vegetarian i didn't do it wisely and got sick. but recently i've had to go dairy free for my son and it was so easy that i have decided to "go all the way" I really feel that now that i am a parent i am truly accountable and have an example to set. what am i saying exactly if i tell my son that i love and respect animals. then turn around and eat a commercially raised animal...not the message i want to give, that'd definate. So right now i am totally meat, milk, and eggs free. And as i get a wider range of recipes under my belt i will go completly vegan.I look foward to getting to know you all:)
Guest guest
Actually if you go to BN.com you can save selections to a wish section - that was if you give a few people your name and password so that they can access your list they will always have something that they know you would like from a bookstore. I would recommend that to anyone. Just don't save your credit card on the site and giving out your screenname and password shouldn't be a problem. n a message dated 9/23/2003 3:04:12 PM Eastern Standard Time, sulerhee49 writes: May I make a suggestion? Guest guest
Wow Misty - I'm envious of all the STUFF you have!!! lol. I had a juicer and old blender, so have bought a food processor and ordered a deyhdrator. It should be delivered next tuesday, I hope. If I cleaned out the cupboards, I think I'd get evicted from the house ... but I DID create a cupboard just for me and my stuff. And took over the kitchen windowsill and am doing sprouts. (we are still trying to coordinate the fridge space). Wishing you the best in your raw food adventure!!! cheers terry rawfood , drmistyrose <no_reply> wrote: > Hi Group, > > I just recently joined the group and am so thankful I did. Guest guest
--- Hi, Misty, I'm new to the group, too. I'm a 52 year old grandma. I have been interested in raw, vegan food for about 20 years, and have been off and on vegetarian/vegan during that time. I've now been vegan for almost 2 years (my longest vegan span). I never seem able to stay raw, though, over about a week. I still have to cook for my family (husband, and 3 young adult kids). My husband, bless him, is fine with vegan meals. The kids grumble, but, hey they're getting free room and board, so tough. I do buy them milk, cheese, and eggs, which I do not eat or prepare. I still have a few issues with raw, even though it is a goal/ideal I would like to aspire to. My (few) issues are B-12, and how raw is raw. I.E. some raw fooders consume maple syrup, raw honey,and/or nutritional yeast. When I do raw, I use " raw " agave nectar, but how raw is something that comes in a plastic bottle? I also like " raw " carob powder, which comes sealed in a plastic bag. I wonder if I should take a vegan vitamin supplement or not, even though it isn't raw. I do buy the kind that says " whole food " . I really don't like taking supplements, but am I courting neurological disaster from a B-12 deficiency if I don't? Anyway, congratulations on stocking your pantry with healthy stuff. It's an adventure, and fun. Some good books are " Raw Family " , " 12 Steps to Raw Food " and " Eating Without Heating " by the Boutenko family. Also Juliano's delicious uncook book, " Raw " . " The world is so full of a number of things, I'm sure we should all be as happy as kings. " Robert Louis Stevenson
