Guest guest
This isn't true. When you look at written English, about half the words there fall into the first hundred, but most written material needs some of the other thousand words to make any sense. So if we believe the claim about the parrot, N'kisi would understand this: fraggle wrote: > > About 100 words are needed for half of all reading in English, so if > N'kisi could read he would be able to cope with a wide range of material. > > > > As: *** ***: *** *** words are *** for *** of all *** in ***, so if *** could *** he would be *** to *** with a *** *** of ***. Complete crystal-clear understanding. (The 100 words are listed here - http://www.duboislc.org/EducationWatch/First100Words.html). I don't know whether N'Kisi really is that smart. I'd like to think so, but that particular journalist doesn't seem to be big on the fact-checking. Were it true, it would be pleasantly surprising.
