Guest guest
Both of my kids were raised on soy formulas. One is 3 and the other is 15 months. I cut the formula off totally at 12 months for each of them. Then I just gave them Silk soy milk along with the solids they would eat. They are both very healthy kids. Guest guest
Long before I was vegetarian, my son was lactose intolerant. At that time there was only 2 available brands on the market " Prosobee " and Isomil. He had to have soy formula. He thrived on it and that was 20 years ago. He is still lactose intolerant, does not eat any red meats and is working on becoming veg. YHour little one should be fine! arlynnb <acbottomley vegan-network Monday, October 8, 2007 6:34:30 PM [100% veg*n ] Vegan Moms? Hi, I'm a vegan granny from the U.S. who babysits my year old grandson. For about the first 7 months my daughter was pumping breast milk. Which I know is the best milk. Now, however, my daughter has stopped pumping and breast feeding. I've been giving him a soy formula (I know it's not totally vegan, I've been told there are no true vegan formulas due to the type of vitamin D they use). That said, its as close to vegan as possible. Since he's over a year, I'm now giving him Similac Go and Grow Soy plus he gets a vitamin supplement that includes B-12. He's also eating a variety of fruits, veggies, and grains. I was wondering are there any Moms out there who have raised their little ones on soy formulas? How have things worked out? My grandson seems to be doing fine. He's walking, and babbling and seems to be a happy little guy. Thanks, Arlynn ______________________________\ ____ Take the Internet to Go: Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile./go?refer=1GNXIC
Guest guest
Mine had to have the soy formula because of intense problems with lactose and I couldn't breastfeed. My daughters are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, and nothing abnormal has happened with them. Laura vegan-network , Come2mebabee <come2mebabee wrote: > > Long before I was vegetarian, my son was lactose intolerant. Guest guest
--- Thanks to all of you vegan moms who responded. With my 6 children (now all grown) I breastfed; they never had formula. So this powdered formula is new to me. My grandson seems to be doing fine and it's great and reassuring to hear of other little ones who have done well on powdered soy formula, also. Thanks again, Arlynn (Vegan California Granny)
