Guest guest
Just get used to reading ingredients and politly letting servers know that you are vegan and do not eat anything from animals (and oh yes you will get the joy of explaining it over and over, but be nice because you have no idea what these people do with your food before it gets to you). peta2.com, I think, has some nifty info on the whats and wheres for vegan foods in non-vegan places. Congrats! and keep it up! It wasn't difficult, but it probaly will become more difficult once I start eating out and socializing as a vegan! I also realized that there are so many foods that have animal ingredients. For example, I found out that the cereal I usually eat has whey in it, Kashi Go Lean that is. If you have any tips for this new vegan, please let me know. Guest guest
Congratulations! That really sucks about Kashi's products; I'd write them a letter and say you've gone vegan, but because they put whey in their cereals, you'll no longer be buying them. Let them know you used to love them before you decided to make the change. Nature's Path makes a line of vegan granola-type cereals. Barbara's Bakery has some vegan cereals as well. Here are some shopping sites: www.cosmosveganshoppe.com www.veganessentials.com www.vegangoods.com (Different Daisy) www.veganstore.com (Pangea) www.alternativeoutfitters.com has cute shoes and clothes. www.happycow.net and www.vegdining.com will help you find veg*an and veg-friendly restaurants all over the world. I like Happy Cow a little better because it's more user-friendly and has " groups " and forums. www.vegweb.com has recipes and a forum for asking questions about veganism. Clif Bar makes Luna Bars and Nectar Bars, and the varieties are vegan. If you have more questions, shoot me a line.
