Guest guest
Nice! I would like to share my vegan story too. I have been vegetarian since age 12 because I had a huge gut, felt lazy and depressed, when I went vegetarian my gut dissapeared, I got more energy and felt healthy again, then I went vegan in college and felt even better and felt like I reached " the next level " but until I went raw organic vegan WOW that is the ultimate, I weight lift and not only do I have MORE MUSCLES but I don't get sore, I heal faster, my Yoga is much improved but also like Jojo the Planet is on the edge with Global Warming I live in Los Angeles where everyone has to drive a extra cab SUV with one person in it and so I feel and breathe the pollution more than others in other parts of the country or world. I am very into Eco Cars as the solution with BMW's hydrogen fuel cell car coming out soon and Tesla with their 100% electric cars, there are others as well and I hope they can solve the problem. Meanwhile if you drive between Los Angeles and San Francisco there is Interstate 5, there is a HUGE Ranch/Farm with Cows there and for like 1/2 hour or at least 5 miles before and after you reach the Ranch/Farm there is this SUPER AWFUL FOWL stench of death/decay but manure that is so overwhelming you want to vomit. And yet some where on the property there is a farmer/rancher happily living in the middle of death/decay/manure and just slaughtering and killing not only people's health but that of the planet our ozone, our atmosphere and these " fumes " are destroying EVERYTHING but not only that but for other animals that have a right to live like the Polar Bears, the Bees, and so many other creatures just so we can have Leather, $.99 Burgers, McDonalds, and they use every part of the cow in things that you do not even know about they use the bones, hair, hooves, fat, in paper, tires, toothpaste, pencils, ink, all sorts of products and they do not list COW in them, this came to light during the MAD COW DISEASE scare when it was known that MAD COW disease cannot be destroyed so easily so many journalists reported what products have DEAD COW IN THEM without having to list it and the list is VERY LONG. Fact is it is a $50 Billion a year industry, that is 50 Thousand Million! And they use $200 Million or more as in " SUPER SIZE ME " Movie to advertise, get people hooked on DEAD ROTTING COW CARCASSES, Death, Pollution, Destruction of the EVERYONE's HEALTH, THE WORLD, EVERY LIVING BEING AND ANIMAL on Earth again so we can have leather, $.99 burgers, McDonalds, etc. ALL FOR PROFIT AND GREED it is very sad, people are what they eat so they are like animals being lead to slaughter with cancer, heart attacks, etc. Of course WE ALL KNOW THIS and I am just preaching to the choire while someone is Happily eating a BIC MAC at this very moment. But just wanted to thank you and everyone for BEING AWARE, HEALTHY, HAPPY, VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN you are SAVING YOUR HEALTH, COMMUNITY, EVERY BEING/ANIMAL and the PLANET! For this reason I came up with my new company RAW ORGANIC SAVING THE PLANET, LLC all of my products are guaranteed 100% VEGAN ORGANIC and only good for your health, community, environment and WORLD ONLY. IN fact each product that people buy I plant a new TREE as I partnered up with Trees for the Future. I want to make being vegan all natural raw organic a fun fashionable delicious lifestyle and with my products you actually save MONEY like with my new ceramic knives it keeps your food pure, fresher longer people love it so please visit my website: http://www.RawInTen.com vegan-network: jojo46580: Sun, 28 Dec 2008 17:48:40 +0000[100% veg*n ] New to Group / My Introduction Hello to All ~I just recently joined this group, and since I am eager to get started as an active member, I thought that I had better post " my story. " :-)I am brand new to being Vegan, and am still " transitioning over " from the S.A.D. I have totally given up eating meat in any form, and I am " working on " letting go of dairy products. Also, I will not be buying any more clothing and/or shoes that are made by using animals. I will use what I have until I need to replace, then I will replace with only Vegan. I am a 52-year old happily-married mother of 2 and a grandma to 4. As countless others, I was raised on the S.A.D. - and even so - I had always been intrigued with Vegetarians, and when I learned about being Vegan, I thought, " Wow, I wonder if I could adopt that lifestyle as well? " I don't think that there is anything about being Vegan that I do not agree with. There are 3 main reasons why I feel inclined to adopt a Vegan lifestyle:1. My Health. For all of the obvious and known reasons why not consuming animal products is much easier on, and healthier for, the human body.2. The Animals. For the seemingly hopeless, tragic plight of all of the animals that are bred and raised for human food. The senseless abuse and neglect (sheer horror) that these animals are forced to endure is something that I am choosing to no longer be a part of. And this feels good and right to me.3. The Planet. Anyone who has read up on the subject knows that factory farming and all that it stands for is ecologically unsound and irresponsible for a myriad of reasons. So, by becoming Vegan, I feel that I am doing my part-no matter how small of a part. The thing is, we have to start somewhere; thus I begin my journey into Veganism, and all that it stands for. So - Health and Ethics - I reckon these are my reasons for turning away from the S.A.D. - enough is enough!By joining this group, I am hoping to learn more and more, and meet up with others whom I can relate to and connect with. There is so very much that I need to learn, especially WHAT and HOW to prepare tasty Vegan meals - meals that even my S.A.D. hubby will eat. :-)I have no real support for my Vegan choice in my offline world, and so I turn to the internet for alot of my learning and to find peers. And hopefully one day I will know enough to be able to help and support others as well. Thanks for having me. :-)Best Regards from Joanie in Northern Indiana _______________ It’s the same Hotmail®.
