Guest guest Posted February 15, 2009 Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 Comox Valley EchoFebruary 13, 2009 This coming Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Sam and Joyce Wu, new owners of the Golden Carriage restaurant at 478b 5th St. in Courtenay will be hosting the next Earthsave vegan dine out. The Wus left their farm in Canton 16 years ago and have been cooking in restaurants in Fort St. John until they bought the Golden Carriage in October last year. They have redecorated the restaurant with new paint, new flooring and a new front service area. They will be cooking with nephew John while their daughter Annie will be serving out front, making this a familly run business. The evening is open to everyone and the Wus have put together the following special vegan buffet: Wonton Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Deep Fried Tofu with Garlic & Spice, Water Chestnut with Ling Ngow, Broccoli with Tofu, Mushroom Stir Fry, Long Beans with Black Bean Sauce, Vegetable Fried Rice, Szechuan Chop Suey, Spring Rolls, Golden Carriage Jai, Chow Funn with Ginger & Onion, Gai Lan with Garlic, Snow Peas with Bamboo Shoots, Fresh Fruit. As usual, the dinner includes coffee, tea, taxes and tips for $15. Kids to age 12 pay only $8.
