Baked Good of the Day: Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie by Decadence by Danette

I always love coming across new bakers, so I was excited to see that

Madison Market recently started carrying a new brand--Decadence by

Danette. They are carrying a variety of cookies and cupcakes by this

vegan baking company.

Today I tried their chocolate chip cookie (for breakfast, natch),

which was dense and studded with walnuts. It was a good breakfast

cookie--made with flax and sweetened with maple syrup, it had a

vaguely healthy undertone which made it seem like a sound breakfast

choice. It was pleasingly dense, but not too large; the ratio of

chips to batter was quite good too. If I had one complaint about the

cookie, it is that it didn't have too much depth of flavor: maybe

adding the slightest bit more salt might have really rounded it out.

That having been said, I'm happy to have met Decadence by Danette and

can't wait to try their cupcakes.

As the owner of Decadence by Danette, I wanted to thank you, Jessie,

for the wonderful comments and review. Our customers are very

important and Decadence by Danette welcomes the opportunity to

receive feedback. My company is excited to be in the Seattle vegan

market. Seattle has definately extended a warm welcome! It is the

goal of my company to continually strive to make the most flavorful

and delicious vegan desserts. It is also a personal joy of mine to

share great tasting food with others and I hope you will continue to
