Tonia,

Try checking out the Breadhaus in Grapevine, I dont think they make cakes but they do make a lot of bakery items that are vegan.

It's the little things in life that bring me joy. Like telling a vegan naysayer that the cake they have been going on and on about for the last half hour is in fact . . . vegan. I love the look on their face. Priceless.Being a lacto-vegetarian (I don't eat eggs) finding a bakery that will make an egg-free cake is a challenge. A couple of years ago, I decided I wanted a pretty birthday cake for the party my husband was planning, and I didn't want to make it myself. I was surprised to find that many bakeries couldn't fill the order. It wasn't until I called Spiral Diner that my dreams of an egg-free birthday cake came true.My request was simple; a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I left the decorating ideas up to them. When I arrived to pick up the cake I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was beautiful! The cake was three thick layers tall and decorated in swirls and dots of milk chocolate colored frosting and not a bit of

animal cruelty in sight. I could hardly wait.Everyone at the party commented on how pretty the cake looked and how they couldn't wait to taste it. I never said a word about it being vegan. When the cake was finally cut people rushed for forks and it seemed that everyone in unison said, "Mmm, this is SO good where did you get this cake?" Ah, the joy. Thanks Spiral Diner!Spiral Diner is one of my favorite spots and the only place I'll ever buy a birthday cake again. Try them for yourselves. They have two locations – in Dallas at Beckley & Zang and in Fort Worth at 6th & Magnolia.
